10 must-have: Things women need when travelling

Pack clean and neatly ironed underwear even when you are travelling for a day.
Trip time: what to take, ladies?
It’s always fun and exciting when travelling with your partner or with a group.
Solo travelling too, as boring as it might sound, can be quite exciting when the right things are packed.

Always, you should endeavour not to forget that some of these essentials, absent or present, can totally make or break your trip.
However, over-packing can lead to you being overburdened by your own belongings, ruining your trip.

Weather friendly outfits

Always carry with you an umbrella for bad weather days. You’ll regret having to buy one from street vendors who switch up prices the moment the sky opens. Carry flip flops to avoid spoiling your expensive leather shoes when it rains.

Travel-sized toiletries
Hotels generally provide soap, shampoos and towel. Toiletries can be heavy; so carry along products that aren’t provided by the hotel.

Copy of passport and other national identity cards

You should make copies of your passport, drivers’ licenses, voters identification et al because you might never know when they will come in handy.

Sneakers

Everybody is rocking sneakers, from our favourite celebrities to the ordinary street woman. Brides and bridesmaids are choosing sneakers over highly priced heels.
Sneakers can be paired with any outfit from form fitting dress to kneel level shorts.

Makeup kit
‘Beauty lies in the eyes of the beholder’ as the saying goes, but that doesn’t mean you shouldn’t enhance your outer beauty if you have the means. Pack the tools that you can improvise for various functions.

Underwear
Pack clean and neatly ironed underwear even when you are travelling for a day. You never know when or why you will need a fresh pair! Undies are the most essential pieces of wardrobe.

Jacket
Never go on a trip without a jacket. Jackets can be teamed up with trousers, shorts and shirts for all occasions. Most airplanes are always cold, as are some restaurants and other places you might visit on your trip.

Good music
Music, they say, is food for the soul. Whether travelling by air or bus; music can be a good companion instead of the noisy - and sometimes bad - talk from strangers.

A good book
A good book can be a great escape from the stress of travel, and can also be a form of entertainment. You can either listen to audiobooks, read kindles or pdfs on your devices or go for the hard copy books.

Phone charger
It is a good idea to have either a portable solar charger or battery extender with you when travelling.
