We all have bad habits. This doesn’t mean you are a bad employee, you are just that annoying colleague who is either trying to be funny or seek attention but ends up annoying everyone at the workplace. Here’s how to know if you are one:
Busy bodies: They are ever on phone texting or picking calls in the middle of a conversation every other minute. It makes you feel unimportant. It gets worse when they yell to the person on the other end, in an open space office setting. Getting everyone all up in their business.
Beauty parlor at the office: There are those who bring nail polish, hair rollers and nail cutters to work. Your colleagues will be the recipients of your flung nail clippings on their desk. It is disgusting.
Elephant man: Walking like an elephant and dropping everything that is on the desks as you make your way around the office.
Foot-in-mouth syndrome: You are one who keeps saying inappropriate things at work and makes everyone else feel awkward at the workplace.
Touchy: Being completely oblivious of your colleagues’ sense of proximity and touching in unwanted ways. Those who tickle hug, poke and even go to the extent of or patting pregnant bellies. Or picking your nose and inspecting the ‘catch.’
Temper issues: Babbling incoherently at a fellow employee when having an argument. Often not meant for anyone’s ears but can be so annoying.
Noisy machine: You’ll find him with a noisy electric pencil sharpener, in a meeting. They will keep sharpening the pencil every few minutes and smile when people stare at them.
