Drake has been forced to cancel three shows on his Summer Sixteen tour because of an ankle injury.
The rapper put out a statement to fans on his October’s Very Own blog on Wednesday, saying he was ‘crushed’ to let down his fans but had to follow doctor’s orders.
The rapper said the shows were ‘postponed,’ but later promised to be back to those cities with new music.

‘We are over 50 shows in and I have done everything to power through my recent ankle injury and leave it all out there on the stage every night,’ the 29-year-old wrote.
‘I hate to be told I can’t do something,’ he said.
‘But under doctor’s orders to allow me time to recuperate, I am being forced to postpone the intense three shows in a row in cities which have only ever shown me unconditional support.’
The shows in Toronto, Philadelphia and one in Newark have been cancelled, but the rapper promised to ‘make it up’ to his fans at a later date.
‘I am crushed to even be typing this announcement but I feel like I am letting my fans in these cities down,’ the former Decrease actor – who is dating pop star Rihanna – went on.
‘I promise – I will make it up to you… I can’t wait to see you all again with new music and a stronger ankle.’
It’s not the first rough patch for Drake’s big summer tour.
One of his tour buses was hit by a thief who made off with $3 million in jewelry as he was performing onstage in Phoenix, Arizona last month.
The jewelry belonged to Drake’s tour DJ, Future The Prince.
Meanwhile, Drake couldn’t pass up an opportunity to drop into his namesake Drake University, in Iowa, in the early hours of Wednesday morning after his show in Des Moines.
But he was disappointed that there was no one around to greet him.
